Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about AI virtual staging, photo enhancement, pricing, and compliance.

General

What is AI virtual staging?

AI virtual staging uses artificial intelligence to digitally add realistic furniture, decor, and design elements to photos of empty or occupied rooms. Unlike traditional staging, which requires renting and placing physical furniture, AI virtual staging transforms your existing photos into professionally staged images in minutes rather than days.

How does QuickHome AI work?

QuickHome AI works in three steps: First, enter a property address for automatic exterior photos or upload your own interior and exterior images. Second, select your enhancements such as virtual staging, clutter removal, sky replacement, or renovation visualization. Third, receive professional-grade listing images, typically within 60 minutes. Every enhancement is reviewed by our human QA team before delivery.

Can AI virtual staging remove existing furniture or clutter from my photos?

Yes. QuickHome AI can remove existing furniture, personal items, and clutter from occupied spaces. This is especially useful for property managers who need to market units before the current tenant moves out, or for landlords photographing furnished spaces that need to appear vacant and clean.

What types of rooms or spaces can be virtually staged?

QuickHome AI can stage any interior space including living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, bathrooms, home offices, and outdoor living areas. For exteriors, we offer sky replacement, grass enhancement, twilight conversion, and golden hour lighting. We can also generate exterior photos from just a property address.

How long does AI virtual staging take?

Most orders are completed within 60 minutes. This includes human QA review of every image. Traditional physical staging takes days to weeks to coordinate, and even managed virtual staging services typically require 24-48 hours. Our speed comes from AI handling the heavy lifting while humans ensure quality.

What design styles are available for virtual staging?

QuickHome AI offers 8 virtual staging styles: Modern (clean lines, neutral palette), Contemporary (current trends, bold accents), Minimalist (simple, uncluttered), Farmhouse (warm, rustic charm), Scandinavian (light, airy, functional), Coastal (beach-inspired, relaxed), Mid-Century Modern (retro-modern, organic shapes), and Traditional (classic, elegant). You can choose the style that best matches your target demographic.

Pricing and Value

How much does AI virtual staging cost?

QuickHome AI pricing starts with a free trial of 30 credits (enough for 5-8 photos, no credit card required). Pay As You Go credits range from $1.40 to $2.00 per credit depending on volume. A typical interior photo enhancement uses 4-6 credits, making the effective cost roughly $6-12 per image. Our Pro subscription at $560/month includes 400 credits with priority processing.

How does virtual staging compare to traditional (physical) staging in cost?

Traditional physical staging costs $1,500-$4,000+ per property (furniture rental, delivery, setup, and removal). Professional real estate photography adds $150-$500 per shoot. AI virtual staging with QuickHome costs roughly $3 per room, representing 90-97% savings compared to physical staging. Virtual staging also eliminates scheduling logistics and can be done for properties in any location.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new account receives 30 free credits with no credit card required. This is enough to enhance 5-8 listing photos with full access to all features including virtual staging, renovations, and every enhancement type. You can evaluate the quality before committing to a paid plan.

Do you offer bulk pricing or plans for property management companies?

Yes. Our Pro subscription ($560/month for 400 credits) is designed for property managers handling multiple listings per month. For enterprise operators managing hundreds or thousands of units, we offer custom pricing with 4,000+ monthly credits, dedicated support, team management, and API access for automated workflows. Contact us for enterprise pricing.

Do credits expire?

Pay As You Go credits never expire. They remain in your account until you use them. Pro subscription credits renew monthly, and unused credits can roll over up to a maximum balance.

Quality and Results

Does AI virtual staging look realistic?

Modern AI virtual staging produces highly realistic results, especially when combined with human review. QuickHome AI includes human QA on every image to catch AI artifacts, unrealistic shadows, or furniture that doesn't fit the space properly. The result is staging that is virtually indistinguishable from professional photography of physically staged rooms in most cases.

Will renters or buyers be disappointed when they see the property in person?

This is a valid concern in the industry. The key is using AI enhancement responsibly: staging should help viewers visualize a space's potential, not misrepresent its condition. QuickHome AI draws a clear line between enhancement (lighting, staging, decluttering) and misrepresentation (hiding damage, adding features). Proper disclosure, required by NAR ethics and many state laws, sets correct expectations.

Can I choose or customize the furniture and decor?

You can select from 8 distinct design styles that determine the overall aesthetic of the staged photos. Each style includes curated furniture, decor, and color palettes appropriate for different property types and target demographics. For renovation visualization, you can specify changes to cabinets, countertops, flooring, fixtures, and more.

What photo quality do I need to upload?

QuickHome AI works with standard smartphone photos. We accept JPG, PNG, HEIC, and WebP formats. For best results, use well-lit photos taken from room corners with a level camera. Even photos of occupied, furnished spaces work well, as our AI can remove existing furniture before staging.

Can I get revisions if I don't like the result?

Yes. If you're not satisfied with an enhancement, you can request a rework. Our team will review the original and re-process with adjustments. See our rework policy page for full details on the process and credit handling.

Legal and Compliance

Is AI virtual staging legal?

Yes, AI virtual staging is legal in all 50 states when used with proper disclosure. The key requirement is transparency: viewers must know that images have been digitally enhanced or virtually staged. Various MLS boards, NAR ethics guidelines, and state laws (notably California AB 723, effective January 2026) require specific disclosures when AI-altered images are used in property marketing.

What disclosures are required for virtually staged listing photos?

Requirements vary by jurisdiction but generally include: a visible label or watermark indicating "Virtually Staged" on enhanced images; disclosure in listing descriptions; and in California (under AB 723), providing access to original unaltered images via link, URL, or QR code. NAR's Code of Ethics requires "clear and conspicuous" disclosure. Many MLS boards have their own specific disclosure rules, so check with your local board.

Does QuickHome help me stay MLS-compliant?

QuickHome AI preserves all original uploaded images alongside enhanced versions, making it easy to provide access to originals as required by California AB 723 and other regulations. We also design our enhancements to stay within the bounds of staging (showcasing potential) rather than misrepresentation (hiding defects or adding features that don't exist).

What edits cross the line from staging into misrepresentation?

Generally accepted enhancements include: virtual staging (adding furniture to empty rooms), lighting correction, sky replacement, lawn enhancement, and decluttering. Problematic edits include: adding windows, doors, or rooms that don't exist; hiding structural damage, water stains, or mold; removing permanent fixtures or features; and altering the apparent size of rooms. If an enhancement would surprise a visitor to the property, it likely crosses the line.

Do I need to keep the original unstaged photos?

Yes. California AB 723 explicitly requires providing access to original unaltered images. Even outside California, retaining originals is a best practice for compliance and liability protection. QuickHome AI stores both your original uploads and the enhanced versions, so you always have access to both.

Technical and How-To

What file formats and image sizes do you accept?

QuickHome AI accepts JPG, PNG, HEIC, and WebP formats. Minimum recommended resolution is 800x600 pixels, and we support images up to 50MB. For best results, upload the highest resolution available from your camera or smartphone.

Can I virtually stage a photo that already has furniture in it?

Yes. QuickHome AI can remove existing furniture and then re-stage with new, modern furnishings. This is common for occupied rentals where the current tenant's furniture is dated or doesn't show the space well. The AI first performs furniture removal, then applies your chosen staging style to the cleared space.

Does virtual staging work for exterior photos?

We offer extensive exterior enhancement: blue sky replacement (transform overcast shots into bright, inviting scenes), golden hour lighting (warm sunset glow), twilight conversion (dramatic dusk scenes), grass and landscaping enhancement, and object removal. We can also generate exterior photos from just a property address using public data sources.

Can I use enhanced photos on MLS, Zillow, Apartments.com, and social media?

Yes. Enhanced images are yours to use across all marketing channels including MLS, Zillow, Apartments.com, Trulia, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and social media. Images are delivered in high resolution optimized for these platforms. Always include appropriate virtual staging disclosures as required by your MLS board and local regulations.

Integration and Workflow

Is there an API for bulk or automated virtual staging?

Yes. QuickHome AI offers a full REST API for programmatic access. You can create orders, upload photos, select enhancements, poll for status, and download results, all through the API. This is ideal for property management companies processing dozens or hundreds of listings, or for proptech platforms that want to integrate photo enhancement into their workflow. See our API documentation at quickhome.ai/docs.

Can my whole team or brokerage use one account?

Enterprise plans include team management with shared billing and individual user accounts. This allows brokerages and property management companies to centralize photo enhancement under one account while tracking usage by team member. Contact us for team and enterprise setup.

How do credits work across my team?

On enterprise and team plans, credits are shared across the organization. Administrators can view usage by team member, set up individual logins, and manage permissions. Credits are deducted from the shared pool regardless of which team member processes the order.

ROI and Results

Does virtual staging actually help rent or sell properties faster?

Research consistently shows that professionally photographed and staged listings perform significantly better. Listings with professional photos receive 118% more online views. Staged properties sell 73% faster and get 40% more views. For rentals, professional photos can reduce vacancy by up to 50% and generate 3x more inquiries. At $3 per room versus $1,000+ per day of vacancy, the ROI is substantial.

When should I use virtual staging vs. physical staging?

Virtual staging is ideal for: rental properties, homes under $1.5M, vacant properties where physical staging logistics are challenging, and when speed matters. Physical staging works best for: luxury properties with high-value open houses, model units in new developments, and situations where in-person impact is critical. Many successful agents use both, with virtual staging for online marketing and physical staging for select showings.
